A great structural edition for the garden, a perennial and one that will attract lots birds for the seeds later in the season, particularly loved by finches.

Sow in Spring or autumn. Sow February to June onto the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed compost. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place sown container in a propagator with some warmth, until after germination which usually takes 4 weeks. Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots. They grow in any fertile, moist soil; including heavy clay soils.
