Eye-catching variety as it’s so pretty with its stripy pink hoops. Good grower.
Sow from March to April into modules not seed trays and cover with compost. Can also be sown later for second harvests from May – June. Sow approx 3-4 seeds per module, these seeds produce multiple seedlings sometimes so thin to 3 or 4 seedlings once germinated. These can be multi sown so you don’t need to separate them into single plantings, they can grow in a group. Direct sow can be done into prepared ground from April outside ( cover with fleece when seedlings are small if you can ) or in June/July for second harvests.
Final planting should be in about a month from sowing when seedlings are large enough (two sets of true leaves). Plant out May – June and space them approx every 30 cm for multisown beetroots or if planting singularly then space much closer together approx every 5 cm.
Care – Keep weed free and water in dry weather. For multi sown beets, to harvest just twist a beet away from the group, leaving the others in place.
