Leek
- Sow seed indoors March – April, or direct in April, either singularly or in groups. You can sow several to one large module or large pot filled with compost, cover lightly with compost after sowing and water well. Keep moist and grow in a sheltered location.
- Final planting – Two ways to plant – Can be planted out in clusters as they are in the modules, simply lift the whole module and plant it into the ground, or tease them out individually and plant into seperate holes approx 7 – 10cm deep, 15cm apart and water in well, this will help settle soil around the roots. They grow slowly but they are thirsty so don’t let them dry out. The stem part that’s within the ground will remain white.
