Khol Rabi

A member of the Brassica family, although its also known as a German turnip. It has a long sowing period, you can sow from April to August if you are sowing into modules inside or undercover, or you can sow direct into your prepared bed. As with most sowings, I prefer to sow indoors into modules then plant out.
These are best sown into modules or small pots either individually or perhaps sow a couple of seeds per module and thin the weakest one out. Keep moist and grow on until ready to plant out.
After about 4 weeks the seedlings will be ready to plant out so plant into final position 30cm apart.
They are best harvested when small or they can go a bit woody if left to grow too much bigger than a cricket ball size.
