Lamb’s Lettuce
- Sow direct into a prepared bed in late August onwards for winter leaves, seeds will need to be covered with a fine layer of compost and kept moist.
- Sowing made in the latter part of the year stand well through the colder months covered by fleece or inside a greenhouse or poly tunnel. Germination can be quite slow so be prepared and keep the area weed free.
- In a prepared bed, sow in rows quite close together, sow into premade drills about 15cm apart, sow thinly and thin as necessary once germinated although seedlings are happy to grow close.
